The Art of List Building. Many people will tell you that this is one of the hardest things to do, Build up your list to an effective level. But that is really not the case. List Building can be and should be very simple. The concept itself is very simple. Drive people to a page that requires them to fill in their name and email address.

Now that is the basic concept in list building but there are other things that you must consider, and if you follow a few simple rules you will end up the winner in your list building efforts.

One such rule is to become a contributor in as many Giveaway Events as you can manage. These are nothing more than events put on by other online marketers that gather together in one place to offer different ebooks, scripts, and services for free. The only thing that they ask for in return is for you to give them your name and email. Now the nice thing about Giveaway Events is that you have hundreds of people just like you driving traffic to the same site. You benefit from all this advertising. But how can you make sure that the people want your gift? Well the first thing that you need to do is make sure that the gift that you are giving is FRESH. Do not use something that has been around for years, the chances that anyone will want it are slim. Make your Gift something new.

Another thiing that you can do is to purchase the upgrade as many times as you can when you join these events. Most of the time with an upgrade your gift will now show up higher up in the event or on a special page that is shown before the other gifts. The other way to get your gift to show up higher in the event is to promote the site. You get points for the people that signup under you. But even if you promote the site, we suggest that you always buy the upgrade. This shows that you are serious about building your list. Remember you only get out of something what you put into it.

I can not tell you the number of times that we have hosted a giveaway event that the contributors signup by the hundreds and only a small percentage buy the upgrade and then when the event launches all the others want to know why their gift is not showing. You need to invest in your business folks.

Another super way to build a list is something called firesales. A fire sale is an event where the price of a product starts out at a lower price, and then it will increase in price by a certain amount at a certain time. The advantage of this is that once the person buys from you they become an instant affiliate and they get their own url to advertise your product. When someone clicks on their affiliate link they go to your site. You get the name and email of that person and the affiliate will get the money for that sale.

So you see list buidling is not really hard at all, you just have to do it. So here is the basic breakdown of what you need to do.

Find a gift that you can give away, or find a product that you can sell (if using a fire sale). Put up a squeeze page to collect the name and emails of the people that want your gift. And then drive traffic to the site.

Some things to remember. Build your squeeze pages using good graphics and text. Always have a backend offer on your download page. Make sure that you have a support link on all your pages, and then make sure that you check your support every day. Good support will result in bigger lists guaranteed.

Always buy the upgrade when joining a Giveaway event, the cost is usually pretty cheap for what you get. Advertise the site as much as possible. Use safe lists, classified ad sites, forums, email signatures. Make sure that you use as many different places as you can to advertise.

If you follow these simple steps you will end up being the winner all the way around, your list will build by the hundreds every week and before you know it you will have a list of thousands of people that will allow you to send your offers too.
